I have some dry rot on a piece of wood on the roof eave cause from water damage; the roof leak has been fixed. The damage is minimal and I will be covering the damage with Bondo and painting the house.

My kitchen sink clogged up yesterday (I had just run some stuff through the disposal and it stopped draining). The apartment above us got a water leak and water drained into our apartment. Our personal items were damaged by that. Also, landlord told us that we might move to another room.
If those who living in the apartment are responsible for that, will they pay for our personal items and expense for moving?

i’m using a dehumidifier to get moisture out but it is cheap indoor/outdoor carpet. some of the smell was there prior to water leak because house was empty and closed up for some time.
rip out the carpet until you can get something new,the mold is in the fibers and probably the padding underneath
