If you hired a plumber to change your whole set of shower knobs (where you turn on the shower) including all the supplies that the plumber buys for you…what is a reasonable price to pay the plumber for service and supplies?
And would you have hired a plumber to change shower knobs and the whole set or done it yourself?
plumbers pricing are different depending on where you live, if plumber used his knowledge and his time, truck,GAS, etc toget the correct parts, don’t complain. It’s a simple job for him/her but they are doing something that you needed. If your sewer was stopped up and your toilets were overflowing, would you complain when he fixed problem? Same truck, time, gas, knowledge.

I would of done it myself when I had 15 minutes with nothing else to do. It would cost me the price of the new knobs. I guess if you hired a plumber he would charge you for a service call and twice as much as he paid for the knobs. And he would be laughing at how easy money can be stolen.

You can do it yourself if the new knobs are compatible with the shower valve you have.

We had to change the kitchen faucet. I bought it myself at a home supply store and called a plumber to install it because the pipes had to be cut and hoses put on. The labor cost around 50.00. I wouldn’t think that a shower faucet would be any more expensive than that.
