water leak responsibility between meter and house shutoff valve.?

WE have a water leak in the 12 foot pipe from the meter to the townhouse shutoff valve. This is a homeowners association where they are responsible for all exterior problems, paint. roof, landscape. I take care of interior problems and maintainance. Who pays to repair this 12 foot water line? Should cost 700-800 dollars to move line to edge of patio, as it is under 10 by 10 ft patio.

You are probably responsible, but check with the association just to be sure.

  4. In most municipalities, the city’s responsibility ends at the water shut off. From the shut off to the meter, and into the home(s) is the responsibility of the homeowner. Check with your local utility to confirm this.

  5. This is not a municipility problem or cities..but If your contract says they take care of outside problems..then this line is outside..simple…if you have that on paper and signed..the homeowner association is liable
